Book Club

Mission

The NAPO Book Club exists to provide NAPO members with opportunities to connect and engage with one another by reading and discussing selected relevant books with topics important to our industry and society.

Who?

All NAPO members are invited. Join the Book Club to meet other NAPO members with similar interests to yours from all over! Members register HERE to receive the Zoom link.

What?

Subjects relating to Business Development, Current Affairs, DEI, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership.

How?

The book club sub-committee selects three options from a maintained list of possible books which members who attend the meeting then vote on through an online survey.

The list of book options works in conjunction with the Education Committee's Professional Development Strategies

Where?

The book club is hosted via NAPO's Zoom account, and the discussion is led by one of the book club sub-committee members.

Simply read our upcoming book, and join us for our next meeting. We meet every month on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm ET. Click here to register for our upcoming meeting in July, and all future occurrences of NAPO's Book Club meetings.

The Upside of Being Down

Upcoming Book:

July's Book Club will feature The Upside of Being Down by Jen Gotch

With humor and candor, Gotch shares the empowering story of her unlikely path to becoming the creator and CCO of a multimillion-dollar brand. From her childhood in Florida where her early struggles with bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety, and ADD were misdiagnosed, to her winding career path as a waitress, photographer, food stylist, and finally, accidental entrepreneur, she illuminates how embracing her flaws and understanding the influence of mental illness on her creativity actually led to her greatest successes in business and life.

Hilarious, hyper-relatable, and filled with fascinating insights and hard-won wisdom on everything from why it’s okay to cry at work to the myth of busyness and perfection to the emotional rating system she uses every day, Gotch’s inspirational memoir dares listeners to live each day with hope, optimism, kindness, and humor.
