Apps to Track Time and Get Paid

By NAPO HQ posted 04-30-2014 12:19 PM

As professional organizers and productivity consultants we are usually in charge when it comes to billing and collecting payment. When you are first starting out you may not be able to hire someone to do all of that for you. Even if you are at a level to hire help, wouldn’t it be great if you could instantly send out your invoice and get paid while there with the client? Or how about sending an electronic receipt when you are paid at the client site? Now, by using your iPhone or Android, you can keep track and manage your income where and when you need to while on the go. These apps are a great addition to have in your organizer toolkit.

QuickBooks Online

This is the #1 cloud accounting service for small business. And if you have the desktop version you will love the online version. Not only can you access all of your account information you can now connect through an app for iPad/iPhone or Android. Billing your client on the spot and taking payment is a breeze.

Invoice Robot

Keeping the small business in mind, Invoice Robot helps keep the process of creating financial documents in your hands versus the alternative of using an outside person (e.g., an accountant) or management company. It creates invoices, quotes, proposals, and receipts that can be sent as PDF documents. This is a great app if you are just starting out and looking for simple invoicing.

Invoice2Go

Get going fast and easy with Invoice2go. Start by selecting one of the provided invoice styles and either use it as is or customize it to your liking. You can build estimates, produce invoices, issue credit memos, etc. To make it easier for your clients to pay, add a PayPal button to allow instant payment via a trusted safe and secure method.

FreshBooks

This one is by far my favorite. As part of the web-based FreshBooks application, the Freshbooks app puts all that great functionality at your fingertips via your iPhone/iPad or Android device. Manage all financial aspects of a client’s account including time tracking and invoice creation. Freshbooks automatically syncs up with your online Freshbooks account.

Quick Sale

The invoice process can be tedious, time consuming, and terrible for many freelancers and small business owners. Quick Sale makes the process much more bearable with its quick and straightforward workflow. Pick the customer, choose the service, apply any taxes or discounts, add the “how to pay” information and send it off via email. It’s that quick! The pro paid version gives you even more features like creating quotes, estimates, work orders, capturing signatures and more.

Staying on top of all the financial aspects of your business can seem like a monumental task. However, by using your smartphone or tablet and these apps, you will no longer be weighed down with the burden of invoicing and taking payment.
