The Coaching SIG is designed for professional organizers and productivity consultants who provide coaching services, either as a standalone offering or as a complement to their consulting work. This SIG will…
- Deepen your understanding of the many ways coaching can strengthen and complement PC/PO work and promote client change;
- Provide a forum to share coaching resources and best practices; and
- Offer support and information about the business of coaching.
To qualify for the Coaching SIG, members must:
- Have 60 hours of coaching skills training grounded in the ICF (International Coaching Federation) core competencies of coaching. To be consistent with coaching industry standards, this basic training must meet the following criteria:
- Delivered live either onsite or in video- or tele-classes (rather than from recordings or via a workbook)
- Include trainer observation and feedback of the students’ coaching
- Have a minimum of one year of experience using coaching skills and the coaching process with paying clients
- Feature coaching as one of your professional services on your website
As part of the SIG application, the applicant will need to provide a description of the supervised training received and when it took place.
The SIG currently meets the fourth Monday of most months at 12:00 PM ET but this may change. Contact the SIG Committee Chairs listed on the next page of this application in order to connect with the current Coaching SIG leaders.
Testimonials
~ Each month I look forward to our Coaching SIG call. The opportunity to learn together, stay on top of various approaches and trends, and discuss issues unique to our profession is invaluable. Access to this group alone would be worth my entire NAPO membership fee!

~ The NAPO Coaching SIG is my favorite part of NAPO. We have great speakers from inside and outside the group. The level of professionalism, experience and skill among members is exceptional. The many core members are engaged and generous with their sharing. I love it!
